What a great discovery.
A long term environmental project - two ordinary people doing something extradordinary to help the natural world. If we can do it, imagine the difference you can make!
Located in the Top End of Australia, one of the last great wildernesses on the planet, our 22.5 acre bushland property is a haven for wildlife and part of an important wildlife corridor adjoining the Elizabeth River. It encompasses several kinds of habitat including open woodland, vine forest and mangroves.
In 2002 we bought our property (or "block" as they say down under) with the specific aim of revegating the land, reversing the spread of introduced invasive grasses and bolstering populations of native plants. After many years hard work we now begin to see the results with both flora and fauna flourishing. We have created resources on this site to share some of this knowledge, with lists of birds, bugs and plants. Find resources on weeding or catch up with news and views from the conservation world on our blog.
Our ongoing conservation efforts are a labour of love. Apart from literally years of accumulated time spent weeding, planting and nurturing we have also discovered land management is a financially costly business.
