Little Corella

Scientific Name:

Cacatua sanguiea

Audio:

Seen mostly when native grasses are seeding, they forage on the ground and swoop about in large noisy flocks. Like all parrots, they are highly charismatic, sociable and entertaining to watch. There are two calls recorded here. Both are parts of what appeared to be the same long drawn out serenade by one individual to another. This went on for about an hour or so before the birds moved off. The shorter call (listed first) is hysterical.
